Wind Sculpture Ideas

| 01/28/2012

So many people these days find themselves spending the harsh winter months many up North are subjected to by heading south and renting for a few months in that more favorable climate. And many of these take the opportunity to go out on “day trips” to explore new flavors, sounds and sights the areas around them boast.

One interesting sight recently discovered by one of these fortunate couples was on an Indian reservation in Arizona just on the eastern edge of the Grand Canyon. It was an enormous store one of the biggest they had ever seen and they reported that it absolutely sold just about anything one could ever think of buying. In addition to the multitude of products being offered there were also several bars and restaurants one could enjoy as well.

Raintrain Traveling Sprinkler

They spent almost a full day there and wound up purchasing some items for their garden at home. In particular they were taken by the item called the Raintrain Traveling Sprinkler which they had seen many years before, but thought were no longer being made. It turns out that not only are these clever lawn watering appliances still being produced but they are still being made by the same manufacturer that began making them in 1936. And the other interesting point is that the design remains unchanged since that time as well. They truly felt they had discovered a hidden treasure.

Kinetic Copper Wind Sculpture

To top the entire experience off they also discovered before leaving another treasure which they eagerly purchased. That one was the Kinetic Copper Wind Spinner Sculpture. They both recalled seeing these when they were much younger and being fascinated by the spinning leaves and how it operated so easily with just a gentle wind to propel it.

All in all these folks truly enjoyed this special and unique experience and the great items they brought home with them.
